Hi I'm Miles, I like birds, I take pictures of them, here are those pictures. I hope you enjoy them. Sometime my family and friends send me bird pictures and I add them, credits are below the pictures.

My goal with this website is to share the experience of birding. The photos selected are not intended to be the greatest or most technically impressive, but to capture unique moments of our avian friends. As we often say here at bird.pictures: "It's about the birds".

The first image in the home page is the “BIRD OF THE FORTNIGHT”, a special bird (or birds) that is chosen for it's unique spirit, ability to be referenced by a pun, demonstration of classic bird behavior, humourous appearance or otherwise impressive nature. This bird rotates out every two weeks, you can see previous birds of the fortnight in the archive. The rest of the birds are posted in reverse chronological order, the number posted varies depending on my mood. Bird pictures may also be browsed by tag, or browsed by species.

I also added some bird facts about some birds. Species identification is probably mostly accurate, but I'm a bird pictures person not a bird science person.
